A variety of cutting-edge technological solutions were displayed, showcasing students’ creativity and dedication in applying Electrical Engineering knowledge to solve various challenges. One of the highlights was “IoT-based Automatic Beverage Waste Classification System” by Rifqi Novandi, Restu Faisal, and Aldian Suyoto, which uses Deep Learning for efficient waste management.

No less interesting, the project “Design for Improving the Stability Response of the Jelok Tuntang Hydroelectric Power System” by M. Hafizhuddin, Gabriel H Siahaan, and Alwi Wahyudi Pulungan presents a proactive step in improving the stability of the power system. In addition, the focus on animal welfare can be seen in the “Smart Cat Cage” project by Rara Sendyani, Aisah Mutiara Sari, and Salman Al Farisy as well as the “IoT-Based Microclimate Conditioner for Dairy Cows” project by Muhammad Luthfi, Rexy Dhatumaheswara, and Harits Izzudin Yusuf.

Students also created modern solutions for education with the project “Smart Classroom Based on Image Processing and Arduino Microcontroller” by Ryan Rusyda Tresnatriadi, Agung Ikhsan Setiawan, and Jose Immanuel Hutagalung. In addition, initiatives to improve the efficiency and performance of the power system are reflected in the project “Medium Voltage Network Reconfiguration of Repeater” by Syafiq Aulia, Andhika Almas Farid, and Agung Tri Saputra.

The project “Maintenance Prediction System for Hybrid Battery Conveyors” by Hendrianto Arief Hidayat, Adam Kinasih Bagas Ramadhani, and Nouki Farhan Alfarishi demonstrates collaboration with industry to improve maintenance efficiency. On the electrical power side, “Design for Electrical Power Quality Improvement in Low Voltage Installations” by M. Syahrul Fikri, Nurul Kawakib, and Arinal Haq provides a solution to overcome non-linear loads.

Not to forget, the latest solution in waste management is present in “Smart Trash Bank with IoT-Based Organic – Inorganic Waste Separator” by Reyhan Charistyandi, Grace Eka Patricia, and Marina H Br. Pasaribu. This year’s Electrical Engineering Final Project Expo as a whole illustrates not only the advancement in technology, but also the positive impact that students can create in solving real challenges in society.

On December 14, 2023, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering held a Final Project Expo that presented a number of innovative projects from students.
