The Department of Electrical Engineering (DTE), Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University continues to play an active role in contributing to the community in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, one of which is the Dharma of Community Service. DTE in collaboration with APEPSI (Association of Indonesian Social Science Education Educators) conducted education and training activities for APEPSI member teachers. The topic of training provided was Canva-based teaching media creation which was carried out in a hybrid manner. This activity was attended by more than 95 people. Offline activities were carried out in the Computer Laboratory of the Electrical Engineering Department which was attended by 40 teachers, while the rest were carried out online.
The Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Ir. Aghus Sofwan, ST, MT, PhD, IPU said “This training is for teachers, hopefully they will be able to implement the results of this training for their students. The CANVA material is very easy to follow because there are interesting features, especially now that it is based on Artificial Intelligence”. Various materials about Canva were provided such as the basics of using Canva, adding text and images, creating infographics, animations, adding presentations, and collaborating.
The Chairperson of APEPSI Sarwanto, SPd, MPd, appreciated Undip’s Electrical Engineering Department which has collaborated several times regarding the use of interactive learning media. “This activity is very useful for social studies teachers, hopefully in the future the collaboration will continue and be even better,” he hoped.
