Semarang, October 5, 2024 – Diponegoro University Electrical Engineering Students Batch 2023 held a social action entitled “REKATA” (Resik Pantai Bersama) at Marina Beach, Semarang. This event is part of a series of Electrical 23 Independent Activities, with the aim of increasing public and student awareness about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and reducing waste pollution in the beach area.

The event, led by chief executive Favian Atha Raditya, was attended by 138 participants. In his remarks, Favian said that this event came out of concern for the increasing waste pollution in Marina Beach and the lack of public awareness of the importance of maintaining a clean environment. He hopes that this activity can be a form of real contribution from students to the surrounding community.

The event was opened by Favian and the person in charge of the event, followed by remarks from representatives of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and the beach management. Representatives from the Ministry of Marine Affairs expressed their appreciation for the implementation of this event, as well as providing information regarding the importance of maintaining marine and coastal hygiene. The beach management also supported by providing trash bins as a form of contribution in maintaining environmental cleanliness.

The participants were very enthusiastic about the beach cleanup. The garbage collected amounted to 42 trash bags, which were then transported by the Environmental Service to be disposed of according to the procedure. The activity was closed with the awarding and documentation.

“As the person in charge of the event, I feel happy and grateful for the smooth running of this activity. We hope REKATA can have a positive impact, not only for students, but also for the community in protecting the environment,” said Favian. This social action shows the commitment of Undip Electrical Engineering students in maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability, as well as being a real example of concern for waste pollution in coastal areas.
