The Department of Electrical Engineering at Diponegoro University continues its Visiting Professor Batch 3 Chapter Series 4 program by presenting international speakers who are experts in modern communication technology. The fourth session, held on Monday, September 22, 2025, took place in Room B203 of the UNDIP Electrical Engineering Building and was also broadcast online via Zoom Meeting, with the theme “IoT Communications in 6G: Towards an Intelligent Networked Computing Environment.”

This event featured Prof. Suhaidi Hassan from the School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, Prof. Suhaidi explained the concept and direction of the development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in 6G networks, which not only increases data transmission speed and capacity, but also integrates artificial intelligence to create an intelligent and interconnected computing environment. He highlighted the enormous potential of 6G in supporting future communication systems, including applications in industry, smart cities, and autonomous computing systems.

The event was moderated by Ir. Aghus Sofwan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., as the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at Diponegoro University. Through interactive discussions, participants gained an in-depth understanding of the opportunities for IoT research and implementation in the 6G era, as well as the challenges in developing infrastructure and network security in the future.

The Visiting Professor Program Batch 3 is a series of international academic activities initiated by the Department of Electrical Engineering at UNDIP to broaden the global perspective of students and lecturers. With a Chapter Series format, each session presents a different theme that is interconnected in an effort to strengthen academic competence and international research collaboration.
