The Faculty of Engineering Organizes Journalism Training to Improve the Quality of Website Content

Journalism training was held on March 20, 2023 by presenting sources, Central Java INews News Producers and UNDIP Public Relations and Media UPT Managers. The training was attended by every public relations officer from each department at the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University. The Department of Electrical Engineering has assigned two people to attend this training, namely Sumiyarsih (Librarian of the Department of Electrical Engineering) and Margaretha Briliani (Administrator of the Electrical Engineering Website).

Central Java INews News Producer Septi Wulandari, S.Sos. convey material about news writing. He explained about the types of news, news elements, writing style, as well as news leads and content. After delivering the material, it was followed by the participants practicing writing news.

UPT Public Relations and Media UNDIP Manager Utami Setyowati, S.S, M.I.KOM gave a briefing on the importance of collaboration between UPT Public Relations and Media UNDIP with public relations in every department or faculty at Diponegoro University. She said that this collaboration must be carried out with the aim of enhancing the image of the institution through attractive content and a uniform display format for the website. In creating content that is interesting and has value, it is necessary to pay attention to several points, namely timeliness, actuality, prominence, proximity, human interest, unique, informative, and educative.

Through this journalistic training event, it is hoped that the participants will be able to improve their journalistic skills. In addition, it is hoped that this journalism training event can take place regularly so that it can improve the quality of journalists at the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University.
