On October 7, 2023, Diponegoro University Electrical Engineering Alumni Day was held which is also a series of events from the 8th Lustrum of Undip Electrical Engineering. With the theme “Preparing Skilled and Reliable Electrical Engineers with Dedicated and Competent Alumni”, this year’s Alumni Day presented speakers from successful Electrical Engineering alumni: Mr. Andy Purnama Nurhatta (Co-Founder & Director of Desnet) and Mr. Tunggul Arif Siswoyo (SAP BASIS Consultant). In this event, the two Electrical Engineering alumni shared their experiences and knowledge, providing valuable insights to the students and lecturers present.
Mr. Andy Purnama Nurhatta, provided material entitled “Artificial Intelligence: Challenges or Conveniences? Current World of Work and Technology Parameters.” In his presentation, Mr. Andy emphasized four important things that must be considered in facing challenges in the world of work today, namely hard skills, soft skills, adversity quotient, and attitude. Meanwhile, Mr. Tunggul Arif Siswoyo, a successful electrical engineer, presented a talk entitled “Career Hacking for Aspiring Electrical Engineers.” In his presentation, Mr. Tunggul discussed the key factors needed to build a successful career in electrical engineering. According to him, the three factors are attitude, skill, and knowledge.
This Alumni Day provides an opportunity for Diponegoro University Electrical Engineering students and lecturers to get a first-hand view from two successful alumni about the challenges and opportunities in the world of work. It also served as an inspiration for the younger generation to continue learning and striving towards success in their respective fields. The event not only brought valuable insights, but also showed how strong the Diponegoro University Electrical Engineering alumni network is and how important it is to share knowledge and experience to advance higher education in Indonesia.
