Along with the advancement of technology, we have seen innovations in various aspects of our lives. In order to enliven the eighth Lustrum event of Electrical Engineering, the 2023 Electrical Student Association held an UNLIMITED competition. This year, UNLIMITED consists of two competitions: line follower robotics and essay.

The head of the event committee, Hilmy Zweinanda, explained that the line follower competition was back after several years of vacuum. The Line Follower Competition presents a great opportunity for participants to develop their understanding of automation technology, programming and mechanics. Participants design and program their own robots to be able to follow a predetermined trajectory in the fastest time possible.

“The participants of the line follower competition this time were enthusiastic from high schools and universities,” said Hilmy. The number of participants in this year’s UNLIMITED line follower competition was followed by 22 teams from various regions. The competition also began to feel very fierce when it reached the last 8 rounds, robots between teams compete with each other to reach the finish point. Line Follower was won by Karawang Pride team from Diponegoro University, precisely the Vocational School.

Besides line follower, there was also an essay competition with the theme of AIoT Implementation in Realizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). This essay competition was held on October 21, 2023 which was held online. “Initially writing an essay is difficult, but if it is often honed in competitions it becomes easy” said Helmi, the 2nd winner of the essay competition.
