Another proud achievement has been made by students from the Faculty of Engineering at Diponegoro University. The Asta Diponegoro team won a Silver Medal at the 2025 International Students Competition (ISC) held on September 4–9, 2025, at Mataram University, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

This competition is an international event that brings together students from various universities to compete in a paper competition. ISC is organized by Mataram University as a forum for students to present scientific papers and innovative ideas that have the potential to provide solutions to various global issues in the fields of technology, environment, health, and social issues.

The Diponegoro Asta team consists of eight students from various study programs in the Faculty of Engineering, Electrical Engineering Study Program, Diponegoro University, namely Nicholas David Marsen, Rangga Adi Saputra, Septhian Kallolangi, Bintang Mahendra Nadi S., Muhammad Bintang Tri Surya, Rangga Maulan Wicaksana, and Raihan Azaky, as well as Rafael Juan Fibriano (Faculty of Medicine, General Medicine Study Program). The team was supervised by Dr. Susatyo Handoko, S.T., M.T. and Ajub Ajulian Zahra Macrina, S.T., M.T.

In the competition, the team presented two main innovative concepts. First, a Transducer-based Antifouling System, which is a technology that utilizes ultrasonic waves to prevent the growth of marine organisms on ship hulls without using chemicals, making it more environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Second, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Exacerbation Monitoring Device, designed to detect the increase of disease symptoms such as respiratory disorders in real-time and send data to an integrated system for remote monitoring.

These two innovations not only demonstrate the students’ ability to develop science and technology-based solutions, but also highlight the value of sustainability and relevance to the needs of modern society. Support from Pertamina Patra Niaga and Hutama Karya further strengthened the research and product development process they undertook.

The success of the Asta Diponegoro Team in this international event is proof that cross-disciplinary collaboration and the innovative spirit of Diponegoro University students can produce competitive work on the global stage. This achievement is expected to inspire other students to continue creating, innovating, and bringing pride to Diponegoro University at the national and international levels.
