The Electrical Engineering Department of Diponegoro University conducted a safety drill as part of efforts to enhance awareness and preparedness for emergency situations, particularly fires. The activity took place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, and was attended by all members of the Electrical Engineering academic community. The Electrical Engineering Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Team was responsible for organizing the event, involving students enrolled in the Electrical Safety course as field personnel alongside faculty members.

Prior to the drill, the K3 team conducted a thorough inspection of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), portable fire extinguishers (PFE), fire alarms, evacuation route signs, and assembly points. After the fire alarm was sounded, the evacuation process began. The results showed that the evacuation time was 2 minutes for Building A and 3 minutes and 12 seconds for Building B. This record updated the previous evacuation time of 4 minutes, demonstrating improved efficiency and preparedness of participants in handling emergency situations.

This activity aims to foster a culture of safety awareness on campus and train all building occupants to be responsive and alert when facing emergency situations. The direct involvement of students also serves as practical learning that reinforces their understanding of the importance of workplace safety.
