The Diponegoro University Electrical Engineering Student Final Project Exhibition on September 10, 2024 featured various innovations designed by students as a form of application of the knowledge they learned during their lectures. One of the works that received a lot of attention was “Design and Implementation of Green Building Efficiency and Energy Conservation Aspects in the Integrated Lecture Building of Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines)” prepared by Datin Syahputri Igenah W., Annisa Nuraini Suci, and Qalam Bagus Meidino. This project offers solutions for energy efficiency in educational buildings.
Another project that attracted attention was “Designing Smart Microgrid as Electrical System Integration with Android Application” initiated by Arya Permana Putra and Guntur Awaludin Saptadi. This project integrates electrical systems through Android-based applications to improve energy efficiency and monitoring. No less interesting, Dany Santosa, Ghaisani Arifah, and Christopher Jovian P. presented an innovative work entitled “Designing a 3-DOF Robot Arm for Car Body Assembly with SampleFoc” which made a significant contribution to the automotive industry sector.
In the field of assistive technology, the project titled “Spatial Audio-Based Blind Mobility Aid” by Daniel Witansa Samuel, M. Favian Adinata, and Riska Al Akbar stood out with an audio-based solution that facilitates mobility for blind people. Meanwhile, Nazra Aulia Ardi and Diany Puji Astuti presented innovative work in the form of “Designing Control Systems and Mobile Applications for Controlling and Monitoring Smart Roof,” which presents the latest technology in smart roof management for modern buildings.
At the exhibition, the project titled “Design of Monitoring System and Predictive Maintenance on Electric Cable Network” by Ratu Sondang Elizabeth Sidauruk and Raudhatul Hamidah also attracted attention for its predictive technology approach that helps maintain the electricity network more efficiently. Mohammad Fa’iz, Didin Tri Handoko, and Naufal Yafi Susanto contributed the project “Designing Rotary Drum Dryer with Website-Based Monitoring System to Increase Black Pepper Production,” which helps the agricultural sector by increasing the efficiency of the pepper drying process.
Other students, Muhammad Ismail Winanda, Raditya Setia Wardana, and Dharmawan Bincha Yomi, presented “Designing Glow Dischart Plasma Generator to Improve Groundwater Quality,” which uses plasma technology to improve groundwater quality. The project “Integrated Remote Face Detector” by Fakhrizal Vabiano Fw., M. Kurnia Sandi, and Yahya Bernanda F. offers solutions in the field of security by incorporating face detection technology.
Willman Satria Situmorang and Ais Amin Rais also participated with their project titled “SPBE Monitoring and Evaluation Application,” an application that enables better evaluation and monitoring of the Electronic-Based Government System. Yohanes Owen Samudra Panjaitan and Paulus Zypo Manik presented the project “Design of Protection System Improvement and Power System Stability Response at PLTU Tanjung Jati B,” which aims to improve power system protection.
In addition, the work titled “Redesign of Protection Relay Coordination System on Power Plant and Power Distribution Network of Self-Use Area at PLTGU Tambak Lorok Blok 2” by Putri Amilia and Yohanzen Dwiputra Sitorus displays innovation in the field of power distribution network protection.
Erland Abigail and Arya Dimas Taffarel W. developed “Development of Academic Information System on Student Achievement Index Monitoring Application, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University,” which facilitates monitoring student achievement.
Mulat Sariroyekti Handayani Arum, Kahale Maharani, and Muhamad Hafiz Baihaqi introduced “Multi-Face Recognition Biometric Presence System Using Deep Learning” which brings innovation in face recognition-based attendance systems. M. Ibnu Harist A. and William Joshua N. also developed the solution “Asset Management Optimization Based on Business Process Integration Method at PT YCH Indonesia SP Semarang,” which helps improve asset management in the company.
Fachri Hidayat and Mohamad Nur Faizi presented “Development of Bicycle Lending Application System at Diponegoro University,” which facilitates bicycle lending on campus. Meanwhile, Alam Ageng Sampurno, Bernardinus Eden Bayu S., and Akmal Risyad Hakim introduced “Interactive Game of Surabaya War as Game-Based Learning Media,” which uses game technology to support history learning.
Another innovation displayed was “Designing Autonomous Underwater Vehicle for Undersea Pipeline Damage Inspection” by Fahri Rizki Saputra and Syafan Alfiansyah Diva Ritonga, which offers a solution for automated undersea pipeline inspection. Ahmad Fauzan Azimy Harahap and M. Firman Naufal Asyraf also introduced “Designing an Automatic Beverage Filling System for Optimization in Conveyor-Based Cafe Services,” which facilitates cafe services through an automated system.
Finally, Francis X. Garda Naibaho and Lathifah Nurul presented the project “Design and Optimization of Protection Coordination System at PT Inalum’s Ladder Hydropower Plant,” which contributes to the improvement of protection in power plants. Each project showcased the talent, hard work, and dedication of the students in developing technological solutions for various challenges in society.
