Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang and Diponegoro University’s Department of Electrical Engineering have collaborated to organize the Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) Program, which is currently underway with great enthusiasm in the first batch of 2024. Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang and Diponegoro University’s Department of Electrical Engineering have joined their forces and resources to organize the Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) Program that aims to train qualified electrical technician candidates.

The program is divided into two main classes, namely Diploma III Source Equalization ETO and Enhancement ETO. The Diploma III Source Equalization class was attended by 7 participants, while the Enhancement class was attended by 13 participants. In the curriculum, participants learn various aspects of operation, care and maintenance of electrical systems, instrumentation, electrical automation and safety. The lecturers involved in the program are from Diponegoro University’s Department of Electrical Engineering, who have particular expertise in the areas of electrical contour enhancement, instrumentation, navigation, and computer networks. They are joined by instructors from the Polytechnic of Seafaring Science Semarang to provide teaching in accordance with a curriculum that refers to the model course series 7.308 and series 3.14 set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

The cooperation between the two institutions provides a valuable opportunity for participants to gain knowledge and skills relevant to the demands of the modern maritime industry. This program is expected to make a positive contribution in improving technical competence and professionalism in the field of ship electricity.
