At the 36th National Student Science Week (PIMNAS), the Insienergy team, led by Galih Aprian T., a 2021 electrical engineering student, made a brilliant achievement. Their victory announcement was held on November 30, 2023 at Padjajaran University, where the team won the Bronze Medal in the PKM-KC-1 category for their outstanding poster presentation.
The team consisting of Alief Muhammad V. (Electrical Engineering), Diovan Fitra P. (Chemical Engineering), Muhammad Ferdiansyah (Mechanical Engineering), and Al Fath Ghoffaru (Chemical Engineering), mentored by Ir. Hadha, S.T. M.Sc., IPP, presented the project titled “Innovation of Energy Independent Net Zero Emission Waste Combustion Furnace for Electricity Generation and Construction Material Integrated with MQ135 Sensor and Electric Arc.”
The project emerged as an innovative solution to overcome the hazardous characteristics of liquid waste from the pharmaceutical industry. The team created a Net Zero Emission trash combustion furnace that not only generates electricity through a thermoelectric generator, but also integrates an MQ135 sensor and electric arc to optimize the process.
Regarding their innovation, the team leader stated that the incinerator created by the team can utilize all emissions, pollution, and radiation generated during the burning of waste. This result is not only environmentally friendly, but can also be reused for furnace purposes and construction materials. Although it is still in prototype form according to the PKM-KC output.
In his response, the team leader also gave encouragement to friends who may not have achieved success at PIMNAS or are planning to participate. He shared his experience, revealing that persistence and perseverance are the main keys to achieving success. With determination and continuous effort, every obstacle can be overcome, and every failure becomes a valuable lesson.
The achievements of the Insienergy team at the 36th PIMNAS are an inspiration for other students to continue to innovate, learn from every experience, and make failure a stepping stone to success.
