In order to carry out the obligations of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the dharma of community service, a team of lecturers from the Department of Electrical Engineering chaired by Aghus Sofwan, S.T, M.T., Ph.D. consisting of 4 other lecturers held community service activities. This activity is in the form of a workshop themed Optimizing the Use of Artificial Intelligence to Increase the Effectiveness of Learning Supplements for High School/Junior High School Teachers. This workshop was conducted in a hybrid manner (offline and online) which began on May 28 2023 and was attended by teachers who are members of APEPSI (Association of Indonesian Social Knowledge Education Educators). The offline workshop was carried out from the Electrical Engineering Computer Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, attended by 35 teachers and simultaneously conducted online via zoom meeting, attended by 95 other teachers.
In his remarks, the chairman of APEPSI, Sarwanta, M.Pd., stated that currently there are around 3,000 APEPSI members spread across Indonesia. On this occasion, Sarwanta expressed his appreciation for this community service activity which provided an increase in the competency of social studies teachers in the country, so that they continue to be professional teachers. The material for this activity was provided by M. Arfan, S.Kom., M.Eng and Ir. Yosua Alvin Adi Soetrisno, M.Eng., IPM. with the topic Application of AI in Education for making questions and content creators. In this workshop, the teachers, apart from getting theory, also directly carried out practical training and carried out various independent assignments which were carried out during a total of 32 hours of training.
