Istanbul Youth Summit (IYS) 2023 is a program founded by the Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) Foundation. Since 2017, YBB has been holding an international youth gathering called “Youth Education and Entrepreneurship Summit (YEES!)” in Istanbul and it has been held for the sixth time. The 2023 Istanbul Youth Summit was attended by 130 participants consisting of representatives from various countries in Asia, Europe and America. Guntur Awaludin Saptadi and Ilyas Musaddad were delegates from Electrical Engineering and were also delegates for Indonesia at the 2023 Istanbul Youth Summit which was held in Istanbul, Turkiye on 6-9 February 2023.
This International Conference was held for 4 days, with a timeline of activities on the first day there was presentation of material related to the SDGs topic at the International Conference. Furthermore, on the second and third days there was a presentation of works that had been made since November 2022. This activity was an international conference in the form of a Social Project where in the final stage each participant presented activities while in Istanbul, Turkiye. The delegation from Indonesia raised the topic of SDGs problem number 9 namely Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure with the topic title Volunty.
Volunty is a platform company that provides opportunities where people can commit to volunteer projects that actually pay them back. Candidates wishing to create a portfolio and build experience, commit to projects offered on the platform, and earn a score based on their activity and commitment to volunteer work, the member with the highest score and best portfolio view will be rewarded with great opportunities across their industry, most of which are offered by the biggest brands. With this topic, the delegation team from Indonesia, namely Guntur and Ilyas, won the Best Group Award at the 2023 Istanbul Youth Summit conference.
The last day of the event, namely the awarding night where there were cultural performances from various countries. In addition, the award winners were also announced at the event and the Indonesian delegation team, Guntur and Ilyas, won the Best Group Award at the Istanbul Youth Summit 2023 conference by presenting the topic of SDGs number 9, namely Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure with the topic title Volunty.
