On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Diponegoro University’s Department of Electrical Engineering (DTE) students successfully carried out an evacuation drill with outstanding achievements. The purpose of the exercise was to train members of the Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) Committee in handling emergency situations and ensuring the safety of all building occupants.
The exercise emphasized the efficiency and readiness of the team in handling possible emergency scenarios. The two main scenarios were successfully completed very well. The smoke and heat detectors went off in Room B306, 3rd floor of Building B306, and the evacuation was successfully completed in a short time, only 3 minutes. Likewise, the smoke and heat detectors sounded in the 3rd floor Warehouse of Building A, where the evacuation was successfully carried out in only 2.5 minutes.
The success in achieving this very short evacuation time shows a good level of preparedness and coordination between all parties involved. The participants, including all occupants of DTE Building A and Building B, have shown discipline and responsiveness in following the evacuation procedures.
This achievement not only reflects the seriousness of Diponegoro University DTE Students in dealing with emergency situations, but also as evidence of their commitment in maintaining the safety and well-being of all members of the campus community. Hopefully this achievement will motivate all members of the K3 team to continue to improve their readiness and ability to deal with emergency situations.
