The second visiting lecture in the framework of the 8th Lustrum of the Department of Electrical Engineering was held on 12 May 2023 which was attended by approximately 100 participants. The seminar presented the Head of the Center for Data and Information Technology of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Dr. M. Hassan Chabibie, S.T., M.SI. who presented material entitled “Data Integration in Electronic-Based Systems for Efficient Governance”.
He started his seminar by presenting demographic data on Indonesian education, in which Indonesia has 17,000 islands with 34 provinces which have 277 million populations with 646.2 thousand education units in which there are 4.2 million educators and 71 million students. With this very large data it is impossible if you do not use effective and efficient information technology to manage this data.
Efficient governance can be realized through data integration in electronic-based systems by carrying out stages to encourage economic growth and social development, these stages are:
1. Simplification of digital-based bureaucracy.
2. Economic recovery through digital-based work management.
3. Improving the quality of digital-based human resources.
4. Effective, responsive, and adaptive, digital-based governance.
5. Digital-based public services.
Next, he explained about education data governance, starting from data entry, data integration, and finally data verification and validation. From the data that has been managed, it has produced services for the community, including the Kmpus Merdeka, SIPLah, Merdeka Mengajar, and others.
