The Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (Undip) held an OBE-Based IABEE Accreditation Document Preparation Workshop on February 14-15, 2025 at Griya Persada Hotel, Bandungan, Semarang. This workshop was held to prepare the Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program in the accreditation sustainability assessment from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE). This workshop was attended by all lecturers in the Department of Electrical Engineering This event aims to provide understanding and skills in preparing IABEE accreditation documents based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
The main speaker at this event was Ir. Noor Akhmad Setiawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPM, an expert from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (DTETI) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. In his presentation, he provided very comprehensive material on the Preparation of IABEE Accreditation Documents: Guidelines and Best Practices. This material covers various important steps in preparing accreditation documents, as well as sharing experiences and best practices that can be applied by participants to ensure a smooth accreditation process. In addition to the main resource person, there were also three other resource persons from Undip internally, namely Yuli Christyono, ST, MT, with the topic Managing Data and Information to Support the OBE-Based IABEE Accreditation Process. The next speakers were Dr. Wahyudi, ST, MT who presented the material Understanding OBE-Based IABEE Accreditation standards: Criteria and Indicators, and Ir. Teguh Prakoso, ST, MT, PhD who presented the material Overcoming Challenges in OBE Implementation and Preparation of IABEE Accreditation Documents.
This event was also an opportunity for participants to discuss directly with the speakers about the challenges faced in preparing accreditation documents and solutions that can be implemented. In addition, this workshop is expected to increase understanding of the importance of applying the Outcome-Based Education principle in improving the quality of education in the Undip Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program.
With the implementation of this workshop, it is hoped that the Diponegoro University Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program will be better prepared to face the IABEE accreditation process and continue to strive to improve the quality of quality education in the field of electrical engineering.
