The 2024 New Student Admission Program (PMB) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Diponegoro University, took place on August 12 successfully and enthusiastically. The jargon for PMB 2024, “Towards revolution, upright action, realizing achievement,” reflects the burning spirit of this event. The participants were enthusiastic and active in every session, showing their commitment to start their academic journey with energy.

The event began with an opening and prayer led by the MC, followed by singing the national anthem as a form of respect to the homeland. The reading of Pancasila by Aghus Sofwan, ST, MT, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering Undip, reminded the importance of the country’s basic values in the life of the nation. Remarks were delivered by Hardiwinata Muhammad Massa, Chairman of the PMB 2024 Committee; Anwar Ibrahim, Chairman of the Electrical Student Association (HME); and Aghus Sofwan, ST., MT., Ph.D..

A welcome video from alumni was also shown, providing an overview of the experiences and career paths of Undip Electrical Engineering alumni. Aghus Sofwan, ST., MT., Ph.D., introduced the Department of Electrical Engineering as well as IATE (Electrical Engineering Alumni Association), giving new students an understanding of the organization and a strong alumni network.

Furthermore, Munawar Agus Riyadi, ST., MT., Ph.D. explained the academic regulations, curriculum, and SIAP UNDIP, with a question and answer session to help new students understand the academic system. In addition, the alumni sharing session presents Electrical Engineering alumni to share experiences and tips for success during college.

Important materials such as “Environmental Awareness and Disaster Mitigation / Preparedness in Higher Education” by Karnoto ST, MT., “Culture, Ethics, and Norms of Campus Life” by Yuli Christyono, ST, MT., and “Higher Education in the Era of Society 5.0 and Campus Life in the Era of Revolution” by Ir. Denis, ST, MEng, IPM, Asean Eng, provide in-depth insights into various important aspects that students will face.

The event continued with an introduction to the bureaus at Undip through the session “Student Activities and Student Organizations (LKDTE)” by Anwar Ibrahim, followed by a visit to each bureau’s stand in the MARKA Expo event. This provided an opportunity for new students to interact directly and get more information about student activities available.

Overall, PMB 2024 Electrical Engineering Diponegoro University not only provided new students with academic and non-academic understanding, but also became an important event to build spirit and sense of community among them.
