On February 2 to 6, 2024, Thailand Inventors’ Day was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. One of the highlights of the event was the presence of an innovative team from Diponegoro University who won the bronze medal award with their revolutionary invention, Jaspro Inventor’s.
The team’s victory did not just happen. The team consisting of four members, namely Faisal Ismail Asadullah and Muhammad Surya Taris Z from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering class of 2021, as well as Anisa Nurul Azizah and Pramudya Hananta Wijaya from the Department of Nursing class of 2021, started their journey from a Student Work Research (PKM) which initially only succeeded in winning funding. However, they did not just give up. With high determination and enthusiasm, they developed this concept, so they managed to create a very impressive Automatic Vest Airbag prototype.
Faisal Ismail Asadullah, one of the team members explained that they had created an innovation in the form of an Automatic Vest Airbag that is connected to a website called JASPRO. The Automatic Vest Airbag is equipped with three smart sensors that can monitor the health of its users and provide additional protection in the event of an accident or unexpected event. First, there is a heart rate sensor that functions to record and monitor the user’s heart rate in real-time. This sensor is connected to the JASPRO website, which is a health platform created by the team itself.
Next, there is a tilt sensor that can detect changes in the user’s body position. When there is a tilt at a certain angle, this sensor will activate a mechanism to automatically fill the vest with CO2, thus providing additional protection when the user falls.
Finally, there is a camera sensor that is used to detect the user’s face. This sensor is useful in identifying the user and ensuring that the airbag system will be activated when necessary.
Their success in creating Jaspro Inventor’s is an inspiration for young innovators in Indonesia and around the world. They prove that with hard work, patience, and dedication, big dreams can be realized. Congratulations to the team for their great achievement in Thailand Inventors Day!
