(Semarang, June 22, 2022) Another proud achievement was achieved by Electrical Engineering students at Diponegoro University. The team consisting of 2018 Electrical Engineering Students, Prima Prasetyo Simanjuntak, Rifaldi Kallolangi, and Natanael Bagus Jatinendra won the title at the National LKTI UNYSEF #11 competition at Yogyakarta State University on 26 May 2022.
UNYSEF #11 itself is a series of annual competitions organized by UNY Research UKM to enliven UNY’s Anniversary. With the theme “Student Contributions in Developing Indonesia: Research Collaboration for the Success of the 2030 SDGs” UNY invites Indonesian students to be willing to actively contribute to providing solutions to problems that occur in Indonesia today. Although it is still being carried out online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this activity has succeeded in attracting students from various universities to participate in enlivening the event which will be held on 26-28 May 2022.

Bringing innovation regarding flooding in urban areas, Prima and his friends managed to beat teams from other universities and won the championship title in this competition. Prima as the team leader admitted that he was grateful and did not expect to be the champion in this competition. “Honestly, the ideas from other university friends are also very good, and interesting,” said Prima.
Prima hopes that the many competitions like this can encourage students, especially students of Electrical Engineering, to be more enthusiastic about doing research.
As for the UNYSEF#11 competition, a team from Diponegoro University won 1st place, then Yogyakarta State University in 2nd place, and Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University as 3rd winner.
