The Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University successfully held UNLIMITED 2025 on October 25–26, 2025. The event, held at the Department of Electrical Engineering Building and the Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Office Building at Diponegoro University, served as a platform for collaboration among students, scholars, academics, and the general public through three main activities: the National Student Essay Competition, the International Student Essay Competition, and a National Seminar open to the public. The event was held entirely offline with the support of the Electrical Engineering Student Association (HME), the Department of Electrical Engineering, and the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University. The series of activities was attended by hundreds of participants from various universities and schools in Indonesia, as well as several participants from abroad.
The first day, Saturday, October 25, 2025, began with the National Essay Competition for High School/Vocational School Students in Building B of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Participants from various regions presented scientific papers that raised technological and social issues relevant to the progress of the times. On the same day, the UNLIMITED 2025 National Seminar was also held in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Office Building. The seminar was opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamari, S.T., M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng. as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and was attended by the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Mr. Aghus Sofwan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., and the Head of HME, Anwar Ibrahim.
The seminar featured two keynote speakers, namely Mrs. Nur Nabila Mohamed from Malaysia, who presented material on technological developments and their application in education and industry, and Mr. Tri Bagus Susilo, an alumnus of Undip’s Electrical Engineering Department, who shared his experiences in innovation in the field of electricity. The seminar was also live-streamed via the YouTube channel of the Electrical Engineering Student Association of Diponegoro University and has reached over 500 views, with approximately 200 participants attending in person. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident in the active question-and-answer session and interactive discussions that took place during the event.
On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the event continued with the International Student Essay Competition at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Engineering. Eight teams of students from various domestic and foreign universities presented their innovative ideas to the jury. In addition to the competition, international participants also took part in a City Tour to several tourist icons in Semarang, such as Blenduk Church, Marba Building, Spiegel, Rumah Akar, and the Old Town Creative Industry Gallery. This activity served as an introduction to local culture for foreign participants and strengthened international relations between universities. The event was then closed with an Awarding Ceremony attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamari, S.T., M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng. and M. Mujiya Ulkhaq, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., as the Coordinator of Student Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering.

Executive Chair Hasna Fadhilah Aulia expressed her pride and emotion over the success of UNLIMITED 2025, which had been six months in the making. According to her, extraordinary results require an extraordinary process. She did her utmost to rebrand UNLIMITED so that it could reach the international level and be enjoyed by all audiences. Hasna also said that the idea of broadcasting live on YouTube and taking the event to an international level was a strategic move to expand UNLIMITED’s reach and appeal. Although it was the first time livestreaming, the event attracted hundreds of viewers, indicating that UNLIMITED is starting to gain widespread attention.
In closing, Hasna expressed her hope that UNLIMITED will continue to be developed in the coming years. She hopes that this event will be organized even better, maintain the positive image that has been built, and become an increasingly classy event on the international stage.
