Diponegoro University (Undip) Electrical Engineering students class of 2023 successfully held a webinar entitled “Socialization of Waste Utilization into Electrical Energy” on October 4, 2024. The event, which was held online through Zoom, was attended by 153 participants, including the general public who were also enthusiastic about the topic raised.

Favian Atha Raditya, chief executive of the webinar, said that this activity was part of a series of independent events for Electrical Engineering students. The purpose of this event is to expand information and knowledge about the importance of protecting the environment and inspire participants to create innovations related to renewable energy.

Ir. Denis, S.T., M.Eng., ASEAN Eng., a lecturer in Electrical Engineering Undip who is an expert in the field of electric power, was present as a speaker. He explained the importance of protecting the environment by highlighting environmentally friendly technologies, one of which is the utilization of plastic waste as fuel for electric generators. In addition, Ir. Denis also discussed government policies as well as the role of individuals and communities in protecting the environment and utilizing waste as renewable energy.

Participants showed great enthusiasm through interactive question and answer sessions, creating interesting discussions between presenters and participants. Favian also felt grateful that the event ran smoothly and conducively. He hopes that this webinar can inspire participants to further innovate in utilizing waste as an environmentally friendly energy source. This event is expected to increase public awareness about the importance of waste management and become a concrete step in preserving the environment.
